The mistake most integrators make is treating "a tracker" as a single product category. It is not. Pallet tracking is a different problem: the asset is reused hundreds of times, moves through many hands, and often disappears for months at a time. Field-replaceable batteries are a non-starter, so the device has to run for years on a single cell.

Three mistakes worth avoiding

Buying on unit price alone. The cheapest device usually wins the purchase order and loses the total cost of ownership — through replacement units, support tickets and failed audits.
